Sparkly nails, cheeky dress and loving my popo’s nagging.

Got my nails done over the weekend. Had to use ordinary polish instead of my usual gel polish because my manicurist said my nails had thinned significantly :(

She advised me to lay off the gel till Chinese New Year. Sounded bad!

Gel is a kind of fast drying (cured by UV light in seconds instead of air drying) nail lacquer that doesn’t chip, I think it’s the best invention ever for active women but does have its drawbacks – one of it is thinning nails as the polish clings to them really hard.

Gareth doesn’t like the red polish, he thinks it looks like they ran out of gold. Men :P

I dressed up over the weekend for a wedding. A dress that’s demure on the front but a little cheeky at the back.

Mom got the dress for herself from Asos but she chickened out of wearing it so she altered it to fit me. I love having introduced Asos to my mom….. hehehehe.

Dress from Asos. Stillettos from Bangkok. Clutch bag from Burberry, a birthday gift from hubs.

I hardly wear makeup because am too friggin lazy. Here’s one of me with fake lashes and the lot.

I use Lancome Teint Idole liquid foundation, set with compact from MAC. Blush is Lancome Blush Subtil. Tinted lip balm from IN2IT in orange for the lips. Eyeshadows from Urban Decay Naked 2 with eyeliner from Red Earth and brows with Empro brow pencil. Lashes from aliexpress – got like 100 pairs for less than RM80 lol.

My face shape changes everytime I take a picture since I started wearing braces. Sometimes I love it, sometimes I think it’s awful! And right now, it is in an awful phase.

Went back to Mentakab to celebrate my popo’s birthday in advance. As usual, she nagged me about babies. Something different this time though, after nagging me for like half hour….she suddenly got quiet and then sheepishly told me to just ignore what she said. Told me to let nature takes its course.

My heart was just exploding with love for my granny cause she probably realised she was exerting too much pressure on me so she tried to rein it back.

# – Popo and Martin – my cousin’s kid. Too cute!!!!

# – Popo feeding hubs with cake. Love this picture! And that’s my mom, not me.

As I get older, I don’t mind being nagged so much by my elderly relatives. I am realising that it comes from a place of love and I consider it a gift to be fussed over :)

London calling

This picture was taken at KLIA. Don’t know why I looked so pale. Maybe something to do with being awake for over 24 hours.

Dressed for 13 hours flight.

# – Looking ahead.

Fuzzy top was thrifted. My regular harem pants from Nichii. Hoodie from Puma. Bags from Samsonite and Louis Vuitton. Sandals from Ipanema Gisele Bundchen.

Blogging from London now, where beer is cheaper than ice-cream.

We took the A380 for the first time…I was more worried than usual during the take-off as my mind couldn’t comprehend how such a large aircraft could lift off into the sky.

But it did, luckily.

We are staying in the Seven Sisters area, about 20 minutes to Central London by tube. Our accommodation is actually the back portion of an art gallery. Pretty damn cool.

We had kebab for dinner.  And now I am in bed trying not to fall asleep… though I am fighting a losing battle.

River cruise

Here’s a break from my usual mirror. Wore this to Damien & Amy’s wedding dinner.

The dress is from H&M. Gold stilettos from Payless Shoes, clutch bought in Bangkok. Watch is my favourite Tough Solar G-Shock, which was a birthday present to myself many years ago.

After Damien and Amy’s wedding, someone suggested to go on the Melaka River Cruise, which is near the Stadhuys. Since the hubs and I have never been on it, we decided to go for it.

We didn’t carpool so ended up at different jetty points. There were like 3 or 4.

There were some difficulties trying to pinpoint where everyone was. KY in particular was very helpful with his “We are at the jetty in front of this large red building”.

At last, after walking for a bit, we found the rest of the group. They had been trying to stop a boat to get on by waving from a jetty, kind of like hailing a taxi? There’s a signboard that actually said you could do that.

Anyway, one particular boatman signalled to us to go further up (or down? I wouldn’t know) along the river instead, so we started walking.

And ended up where hubs and I were before. Also found out that we needed to buy tickets to get on the cruise, not stop it by waving lol

Lucky for us, we just made it! We were the very last passengers to get on the river cruise.

What an adventure! Hahaha.

The ticket was RM10 for local and RM15 for foreigner. The price is actually quite okay because it’s a pretty long cruise (45 minutes). That said, maybe it felt long cause there was a kid with a toy cat that wouldn’t stop meowing. WTF parents?

# – River cruise!

Contrary to belief, the river was not smelly. The water’s not crystal clear though so we tried our best to avoid stray spray.

# – Under a rainbow bridge.

It’s really nice to see the improvement they’ve done to Melaka river. So much cleaner and so many beautiful murals on the walls of the buildings located along the river. Nice ambient lightings too!

Would be cool if they could do something like that to Klang River :D
