I popped me wrist!

This is really an overdue post. I’ve been wanting to write about this for so long as it’s such an interesting experience for me, and a good one too!

A few months back, my right wrist was suffering from a dull nagging pain that just won’t go away. I think it was due to the awkward position I was sitting in while working on the laptop, as I was too cheap to get a proper office chair then (just started business mah :P).

You know those annoying pain from the inside that you can’t really treat except to wait for it to pass? Thing is most of the time, you really have no freakin’ idea when it’s going to pass and it’s not bad enough to pop painkillers.

I was recommended to go to Osso Bone Care by a friend. It’s located in Kuchai Entreprenuers Park, not too far from Mid Valley. I was quite apprehensive about seeking treatment from traditional medicine practitioners as frankly, the very idea just freaked me out. Anyway, my friend highly recommended it and she promised that I would be satisfied with the outcome.

I went there in the evening and was surprised to find that it’s a modern looking joint. None of those dingy nonsense you would find in town. The place was really clean and furnished with modern equipment I wouldn’t expect to find in a traditional medicine clinic.

Got myself registered and then I was ushered into a room.

The Sinseh, who is a young chap by the name of Calvin attended to me. Although my problem was the wrist, Calvin offered to “loosen” up my spine which, as scary as it sounded, brought great relief to my stiff back.

Fixing the neck.Twist it back in place.

Loosening the spine.Manhandled.

It’s quite daunting having my vertebrates snapped but man, after it’s over I felt like I just had a 2-hour Thai massage!

After the great back work, Calvin took me to another room to treat my aching wrist.

Here’s a video of me receiving treatment. You can hear me speaking in Cantonese (I sounded so weird!).

Apparently my condition was caused by floor mopping, when I was twisting the water out of the mop. It’s quite common among women according to Calvin. He meticulously twisted my wrist and then proceeded to apply some chinese herbs to my wrist, which I had to wear for 48 hours. It smelt really weird but strangely soothing.

Calvin said that many people do not realise that their bone structures have been altered due to their adopted lifestyles. Minor things such as wearing the wrong shoes or sitting a certain way could affect your posture and health of your bones. You probably won’t realise it when you’re young but as you age, more symptoms would emerge such as aches, pains and inflammations. In my case, I had minor dislocations in my arm and wrist due to desk work and house chores. First visit to Osso Bone Care is only RM60/80 depending on which part of the body and subsequent visits are RM50/60 each, which I think are pretty reasonable.

Miraculously, after 48 hours, my wrist felt like its old self again. While I’m still a skeptic when it comes to traditional medicine but I have to say, for things like long term bone care, I would definitely seek treatment from traditional medicine pratitioners because they’re non invasive and from my experience, very effective too.

Big Mac Chant

Jeng jeng jeng! Do the Big Mac Chant and stand a chance to win RM10,000!

When I was in high school, I used to eat Big Mac every Friday because:

1. I could leave school earlier on Fridays.
2. Big Mac’s the only thing I knew how to order!

For a couple of years I wasn’t inclined to order anything else other than Big Mac. Why bother, how much better could it get, right? It is still one of the best burgers around and certainly deserves its own chant!

Hehe you all guessed wrong!

Hehe you’ve all guessed it wrong. I don’t need a printer, I’ve got one already! I don’t need a pda, my Nokia N82 is serving me amazingly well.

Actually, I got a massive notebook pc from Compaq HP :D

17″ of visual pleasure, baby. Since I’ve got an ultra portable notebook in the form of Asus EeePC, I figured that I’d need an upgrade from my Lenovo N100. All this “figuring out” happened within 1/2 hour. My original agenda was just to get an optical mouse and an 8gig SD card but I came across this beauty that is Compaq Presario A900 at a very affordable price (in the lower range of RM2000).

It’s so massive it’s even got its on numerical keyboard. I.VERY.LIKE. I wanted something I could use comfortably at home but yet still portable and this laptop is perfect. Since I picked up photography, I’ve been doing a lot of editing on Photoshop too, so the 17″ screen is perfect.

Look ma, I’m digging me own nose!

There was some drama installing the OS too. I wasn’t keen on using Vista, so I decided to get the laptop without the OS so I could install XP at home. Okay, not me lah…the g33k that is my bf lah. After 8 hours, he still couldn’t get it installed, the damn thing just kept restarting itself. As for me, I got more panic by the second. We decided to catch a breather and escaped to McDonald’s at 3am. While eating we discussed the alternative options. Keep trying with XP or give up and use Vista?

Eventually, I was like okay, maybe it’s not really THAT bad, so lets just use Vista. Munching half way through my fillet o fish, my bf dropped the bomb.

“Yeah, it’s gonna use up 2gig of your memory just doing nothing”.

“What? You mean the vista?”

“Yeah”, continue munching on his quarter pounder nonchalantly.

I burst out crying. “So I just upgraded the ram to 3gig so that Vista can take up 2gig of if!?”. Sniff.

“Yeah”.

I was whimpering at this point. And the bf, he just laughed like an evil clown.

He’s so mean right?

So we went home and he tried to install XP for the final time. For some reason he decided to take out the new ram and voila, it worked! So for 8 hours we were dragged to a dead end by some faulty ram -_-.

Damn happy now. Hehehe but still have to go back to exchange the ram. But at least my gigantor laptop did not turn into an oversize brick!

/UPDATE/

We just stuck the 2gig ram back into gigantor and it’s working like a dream :D 3gig of memory to play with…come to momma photoshop actions…….w00t
