My very 1st visit to Nuffnang KL office in THREE years

Yeah, damn embarrassing, right? I know. Can you imagine that I have never been been to Nuffnang‘s KL office despite being one of the first Nuffnang bloggers and sometimes PR consultant until TODAY. I also don’t know why :P

Left side.

Right side.

The office is three times bigger than I had imagined! Has definitely shed it’s start-up vibes :) The first thing I did when I was there was to try out the infamous Nescafe beverage machine.

Making Tim wash a cup for me. Head shaking so fast, means not happy or very happy hehe.

Milo coming out and into the cup!!!

The milo was very nais! Then Tim showed me around the office and look at this!

So many snacks -__-

If I worked at Nuffnang office, sure will become very fat. There were a few familiar faces and A LOT of new faces. Very happy that Nuffnang is growing at such a fast but steady pace :)

One of the veterans, Ah Robb walked in on me with a camera and almost instantaneously sucked in his cheeks so he could look slim in pictures.

Coincidentally, it’s Yee Hou‘s last day with Nuffnang :( For leaving Nuffnang, he’s made to wear something very animalistic…

Got a wedgie?

Why the elephant got pierced nose one?

Camhoing with Cik Segar.

And I got to taste Michelle‘s jelly, he he he he. It was very nais!

After hanging out there and disrupting everybody’s work so long, I hauled my ass back home.

Guess what I found?

Smells like a combination of Robb and Yee Hou.

6th Annual Xmas Party at KY’s.

I can’t believe I’ve been to the same party for 6 years straight. All thanks to the man here:

#1 – KY

The annual party is awesome as always. The cops turned up just as expected, not once but twice in one night. Puke-count is zero though, now that is an achievement. I think most people have simply grown a little mature and prefer to be awake for some conversations.

Heck, we’ve even got a full-fledged Xmas dinner this year, reserved exclusively for the the inner circle a.k.a #porkgang and was scheduled to take place 2 hours before the party. However, since I the turkey collector was stuck in the most crazy massive wtflux jam the dinner was forced to start at a much later time (ie: when the party started).

#2 – Xmas traffic, ho ho ho.

God ordered the ever welcomed roast pork and I was in charge of the vegetables (yawn).

#3 – Full spread Xmas dinner.

It was also Kerol‘s birthday, so here’s a shoutout :)

#4 – Happy Birthday Sexy Sotong!

Well, to be honest, dinner was generally slightly cold and coagulated but it was still fun digging in with the #porkgang. It’s the company that matters, aight I <3 you allllll FML, uhh..i’m heading off now. will resume tonight!

By the time we finished dinner, there was already a decent amount of people at the party.

#5 – Chilling out.

At this point we were inhaling helium for fun.

After that it was gift exchange time. The rules are simple:

* the person who drew #1 picks a gift from the pile (giver’s names are written on the gifts)
* #2 onwards gets to hijack one of the opened gifts, or pick from the pile
* if your gift got hijacked, you get to hijack another one, and so on.

This year, the most attractive gifts were the bakua, World of War Craft games and a Banana Republic drink mixer.

As you can see, these gifts passed through a number of people…

#6 – Bakua – Me, Robb and ST.

#7 – WoW games – Haze, Horng, God & Me.

#8 – Mixer – Tim, Yee Hou, Suet, Robb, ST, KY, Rebecca & Rachel.

The most awesomesauce gift though were these bags of asam laksa tarpao-ed alllll the way from Penang by Yee Hou.

#9 – Though Haze was not so thrilled. Hahahha.

#10 – Suan got something that might be useful for her OBC??

#11 – With the superheroes – green gay santa and green cape crusader.

All in all, it was a fantastic night! Thanks Heineken, Nuffnang and The Balloon Images for the booze, the food and the helium!

#12 – Merry Xmas 2009!

Nuffnang Asia Pacific Blog Awards Was the Real Deal!

Going to Singapore for Nuffnang Asia Pacific Awards was so fun. I got to dust off my 5 year old prom dress (praise the skies I can still fit) and wore it for the 2nd time. Mom bought it for me so hey mummy your money didn’t go to waste :P

The bus ride from KL to Singapore evoked a lot of painful memories. When I was working in Singapore right after uni, I would go home almost every weekend, whenever I had days off, at every chance I got. I was at my happiest when boarding the bus heading for KL. I naturally hate public transportation regardless of how convenient they are but I had no qualms changing a couple of SBS buses and trains just to go to some bus station at the other side of the island. My mom even joked that she saw me more often than when I was actually living in KL. On the other hand, taking the bus back to Singapore made me feel completely opposite. I would feel sick to my stomach, my head light and I would will myself over and over again to wake up from this nightmare. Suffice to say, I didn’t stay long enough to slit my wrist and trust me, I was close to doing that.

That’s why the idea of going to Singapore doesn’t always sit well with me. I guess I just had such a bad time there (mostly my own doing, unfortunately) that my mind just rebels against it.

It’s definitely gotten better over time though. It started with a work trip to Singapore which was really fun. Then there was the Oasis concert which was MIND BLOWING. And the latest, for the Nuffnang Asia Pacific Blog Awards. To be honest, I almost did not attend. Singapore and Kimberly just don’t mesh very well. I even toyed with the idea of faking a relative’s death just to avoid going (sorry Robb and Tim :P). But alas, I do pride myself as one of the earliest Nuffnang bloggers and especially since it’s its largest event to date, I felt like I couldn’t miss it for the world. Especially not for some stinking old deja vu. Thank goodness I still had some common sense at the worst of times.

It was very well-organised! Nuffnang Singapore & Malaysia single-handedly put together an incredibly memorable event. For those who weren’t there, I’m sorry you didn’t get to watch the video about Nuffnang’s story. It was such a great video, it almost drove me to tears, of pride, hello? And most of it was so funny, I laughed so hard I just couldn’t pretend to be elegant in my dress anymore.

I’ve never seen so many bloggers at one time before. It was quite surreal, that everybody there has a blog! It was cool!

With ST, the fabulous Red Mummy and beautiful Jojo Struys.

So what’s the most common activity at a blog awards? Camwhoring of course!

Red Mummy’s got the nicer booty!

Ban cute with Yee Hou. Thanks for being such a good group leader :)

Congratulations to all the winners! Thank you Pringles and Singapore Tourism Board and of course Nuffnang for such a wonderful time. I think this cynical Malaysian would actually look forward to going to Singapore from now on. Hehe.
