Delicious yakitori at Shuraku, Solaris Mont Kiara.

Thanks to Mei, we got to savour amazingly delicious yakitoris at Shuraku in Solaris Mt Kiara.

# – Shuraku. Non-halal.

You know it’s a good place when you see Japanese expatriates themselves patronising the place. Keeping the interior design as close to an authentic yakitori bar as possible, you’d find space a rather precious commodity here but it’s not like I’m complaining. I loved the ambiance, it’s like being transported into the heart of Japan.

# – Yakitori bar style.

The food, as I had iterated earlier, were superb! They were nothing like the dehydrated, puny bits of things vaguely resembling meats that you might find at the average restaurant. Every bite was juicy, flavoursome and succulent, literally pieces of heaven on skewers!

# – Some of the yakitoris – pork belly (porkgasmic), chicken gizzards (plump & tasty), grilled gingko (I know right, weird but awesome!) & chicken thighs (so….decadent).

There are other goodies at Shuraku and they too, were delicious!

# – Spring rolls (light, fresh and crispy), okonomiyaki or Hiroshima pancake (pretty delicious), lightly grilled salmon on tamago (light and tasty), beef steak salad (juicy, medium rare steak slices with fresh crisp vegetables).

# – Here’s me eating the interesting baked eggplant with thick miso sauce which I couldn’t stop eating!

# – The aforementioned eggplants…

Shuraku is a wonderful place to catch up with friends over booze and great food. Maybe the lack of space gets people to feel closer to each other, haha!

# – The men – Cumi, Gareth & KY.

# – The women – Haze, me and Mei.

Pricing at Shuraku is absolutely reasonable for the high quality of food, the ambiance is great and you have got to order the fizzy sake + fruit juice cocktails….DELICIOUS! Should you want to make a visit to Shuraku, do call for reservations though as this place is popular!

The BF and I agreed we would be returning to the Shuraku as regulars. You have got to give it to a place that is proudly non-halal. Heh.
